Performance based staffing and mentoring

Tired of spending big bucks on a new sales candidate only to see the person wash out in 3 to 6 months? You’re not alone. As a result, OPUS has created a service offering that combines our proven track record in recruiting candidates, and our expertise in coaching and mentoring your new hire, as well as your sales management team. Our involvement continues through the hiring process, ramp up, and initial 18 months of your salesperson’s employment. 

OPUS will act as your outsourced staffing department for sales. In this capacity the services that will be provided include sourcing and screening candidates from all potential areas, providing resume and activity tracking, coordinating all face to face interviews, and any subsequent activities. The utilization of the personality assessment module will allow OPUS to help you better understand the strengths and challenges of your candidate, and also provide the basis for the coaching and mentoring that will help your new hire be productive and effective for your organization. 

Once the individual is on board OPUS will continue to work with the new hire and the manager, insuring that your new hire is meeting their short term objectives, receiving the training needed, and is maintaining a positive, “can do” approach to the task at hand.

Candidate assessment services

Candidate assessment includes the integration of the personality assessment tool with an in depth telephone screening of your candidate. If your organization has developed a top performer composite model and skill set requirements, then in addition to being able to provide you with the overall personality strengths of your candidate, OPUS is able to compare and contrast your candidate's profile to your top performers, and share notes with you regarding the candidate's ability to match up with your pre-established requirements.

The process is simple. Your candidate will complete their input to the personality assessment tool, and you will provide OPUS with a copy of the candidate's resume. OPUS will contact the candidate to review the profile results, and to review their past work experience. You will receive a written profile report and a comparison, if applicable, to your top performer composite. OPUS will also contact you to discuss the strengths of your candidate, and recommend a course of action for you to pursue.

Personality assessment

The personality assessment tool utilized by OPUS Productivity measures seven key aspects of a behavioral style. Those are an individual's Dominance, Extroversion, Pace/Patience, Conformity, Energy Level, Energy Style, and Fact/Feeling orientation. The profile also measures the differences between how a person feels they are naturally versus how they feel they need to modify their style. As a result, additional measurements on energy drain and morale become available. This vital service is integrated into literally every service provided by OPUS Productivity.

Top Performer Composite Profiling

As a result of multiple people being profiled composite reporting is available. This integrates the results of any number of profiles to come up with one composite profile. Once this is in place any individual profile can be measured against the composite, and any group of individual profiles can be ranked against the composite profile. A client's composite profile can be modified at any time to add new top performers, or eliminate individuals that no longer meet the top performer requirements. As a result, the top performer information can reflect the changes of the economic conditions of the client's business.

Candidate Pipeline Building (for under $2000!)

Need candidates, but don't want to pay headhunter fees? For clients that do not have a pool of candidates to select from OPUS Productivity provides services that assist in improving that pipeline. This service includes collaborating with our client to determine the position requirements, generating an ad, placing it on CareerBuilder, and then screening the responses to determine the best potential fit. Our involvement with this process can save our clients a considerable amount of time, and our familiarity with internet ad placement and key word usage may in fact yield a larger pool of candidates. This cost effective service has yielded new hires for our clients for under $2000! Now that's a bargain.

Reference checking

Reference checking is not necessarily an art, but it takes more time and effort than many people allocate for it. OPUS has the experience and resources to expand your normal reference checking in two ways. First, if we have completed the candidate assessment service then we have gained important knowledge about the candidate's behavioral strengths and weaknesses. We can utilize this information when checking their references. Named references will never want to say anything negative about a candidate, however they will be honest when asked a direct question. We are able to drill down into areas of potential concern because we have knowledge of the candidate's behavioral strengths. That gives us a leg up when conducting the reference checks. In addition, because we have been providing this service to our clients since 1989, we have many, many people in our database. Often we are able to find someone that knows the candidate that may not have been included on their reference list. These contacts can be very helpful in the reference checking process.

Job Description and skill set consulting

OPUS Productivity has been working with our clients in building job descriptions, position requirements, position expectation guidelines, and other related documents that assist in standardizing the staffing process. We have templates that can be shared that can dramatically shorten the process of building these vital documents.

Employee personality assessment

The personality assessment tool measures 7 key behavioral aspects of an individual, and provides insights as to how a person feels they need to modify their behavioral style in order to maximize their effectiveness. This information is extremely valuable to the person that does the profile, as it allows them to see their personality in the most positive light. They can understand what they are good at, recognize where they might have challenges, and learn to adapt themselves, when possible, to address those areas of concern. The profile information is also extremely valuable to their immediate supervisor, as this person needs to be sure they understand their employee's strengths, and how to take best advantage of them. It is also helpful to understand the similarities and differences between their own style and the people that work for them. This is especially true when people are managing people that are in positions that they themselves would not be comfortable in. This is a frequent occurance, specifically inside smaller companies.

Team building workshops

These workshops, whether delivered face to face or via a web conference, offer everyone an opportunity to better understand the dynamics of the overall team, and gain an appreciation for their similarities and differences with the other team members. Team members must trust each other in order to maximize results, and often times distrust comes from a lack of understanding as to how two or more people view the same external influences. Different personalities will respond to the same set of stimuli in completely opposite ways, and understanding this about yourself as well as the other team members can build trust, confidence, and predictability to the group.
